Want a safe, flat, bike route from South Park and Georgetown to downtown? Or to light rail? Let's ride to the city meeting tonight and Let SDOT know!
Riders will depart from in front of all City Coffee.
Bike Route is 1.7 miles with a 230ft gain in elevation. This route requires riding in the street with general traffic on arterial streets. There are sharrows, and bike lanes for a majority of the route. Riders are responsible for their own safety, equipment and will participate assuming responsibility and risks of riding on Seattle's streets. Lights, helmet strongly encouraged.
From All City Coffee -> 12th Ave S, S Bailey Street, 13th Ave S, S Albro Bridge, Swift Ave S, S Myrtle, Beacon Ave Trail, 28th Ave S, S Frontenac Street -> Van Asselt Community Center, 2820 S Myrtle St. https://goo.gl/maps/4w3tVpngyxxErUp76
Bus Route 107 follows nearly the same route and leaves every 30 minutes from 13th and Bailey.
Building a safe bike route from Georgetown to the southern terminus of the SODO Trail (and light rail) was a recommended top priority by Seattle’s Bicycle Advisory Board — but it isn't mentioned in the draft for the 2019 to 2024 Bicycle Implementation Plan.
Once the South Park to Georgetown trail is complete, the proposed link thru GT will make it safer to bike from South Park to downtown. The City has removed this priority from the latest draft.
Help the City avoid creating another missing link!
Let SDOT know your thoughts on it!
